Connect OpenRouter to Saasmetry
What the models cost — the bill that decides whether an AI product pays for itself.
What Saasmetry reads
Refreshed every 15 min. Read-only throughout: Saasmetry never writes to OpenRouter.
Create the credential
- OpenRouter → Settings → Management Keys → create a management key.
- Copy it when it is shown.
- To split spend per product, give each product its own inference key and pick that key from the product's data sources.
Worth knowing
- This needs a management key, not an inference key. An ordinary sk-or- key is refused with 403, which is the likeliest way a correct-looking connection fails.
- Spend is attributed by API key. Products sharing one key cannot be told apart, so their spend is reported once for the workspace rather than split by guesswork.
- OpenRouter caps large results. When it does, the sync says the figure is an under-report rather than passing it off as the bill.
Is it safe to paste?
Management keys can administer OpenRouter account resources. Saasmetry encrypts the key and uses it only to read usage, spend, and key metadata.
OpenRouter issues no read-only key, so this credential is broader than Saasmetry needs. Saasmetry only ever reads — but you should know that before you paste it, rather than after.
